Hadleigh's Midsummer Fair

Mermaid to Mountain Bikes

With my unique viewpoint in the corner of HOFS, using the microphone and loudspeaker kindly lent by Graham Cook,  I could very nearly make myself heard above the enthusiastic crowd enjoying the Midsummer History Fair organised by David Hurrell, Lynda and Tony Manning and Val Jackson.  I had a great view of Hadleigh Voices Community Choir, which is also based in HOFS.

To the other side of me, Robert Anderson managed to conjure a pop-up Mountain Bike simulator from a couple of cardboard boxes.  It did the job admirably judging by the size of the smiles on the children who tried it.

The YardArm Folk Orchestra rounded the afternoon off with something to send us home very contented.    Click here for their site.

For a sound historical link, there was also a mermaid.

And we were able to look at some excellent ‘finds’ from the local areas, courtesy of (click here for) AGES.

Here is a more pie-centric article on other aspects of the Fair,
