A website dealing with Cunning Murrell in some detail is www.deadfamilies.com (Scroll down and click on ‘Witch Lore of the Past’, then scroll down and click on ‘James Murrell and his family and ancestors’.) It contains some interesting and, apparently, on-going research using most of the above as well as censuses, birth, marriage and death certificates and parish registers.

Hello, I am a member of St Peter’s Church and I am starting a project to create an archive of the church’s history. Is it possible to get a copy of the book by Rev. Maley. If you have a copy it will be returned. I am just going to scan it in. Many thanks, Jon
My Mother has a copy of The Ancient Parish of Thundersley soft cover 79 pages. Shame some pages are missing. Is it the Rev Maley book but slightly different title? Printed by Washburn of Southend.
{ Ed: we believe there is also a 112 page book of this or a similar name.}
