Armed Forces Day (formally known as Veterans Day) was held at the Castle Point Council Offices on the 25th June 2012 at 10:30 am. It was attended by Veterans and serving personnel together with some local school children. Local British Legion Standards were in attendance. A blank shot was fired from the 25 Pounder Field Gun by the T.A. and the Last Post sounded by a bugler to mark the beginning of a two minute silence, another shot was fired with Reveille to end the two minutes. The council laid on a cream tea in the offices for all guests. Photos taken by my daughter.
