Full House at the free slide show!   All the seats for the free slideshow have now been reserved. We will arrange another slideshow, probably in the New Year.

For those with reserved places: the Wednesday November 27th slide show at HOFS from 2 pm to 4 pm is where you can participate to identify people, places and events in pictures from times past.

Admission: free!  Refreshments: contributions appreciated.

Examine and buy Hadleigh Postcard Memories and the Illustrated Historical Guide map;
all proceeds are ploughed back into the work of the Archive, including creating and publishing the next books in the series which will be……

Your Archive decided it was High Time for another free event at HOFS  2pm-4pm 27th November 2013
Friends of the H&TCA,  this year the archive volunteers have chiefly been:
helping to organize the big dig in Daws Heath;
supporting Fetes, Fairs, Fayres and Big days out with tailored pop-up local history displays;

converting part of a local postcard collection into the attractive Hadleigh Postcard Memories;
researching how Hadleigh School worked in the 19th century;
collecting information on buildings we proposed for adding to the Local List;
creating a unique Illustrated Historical Guide map of the farm and country park area;

running drop-ins at the Library;
being at two History Fairs – at HOFS (complete with bananas) and in Leigh
and other less visible but valuable work such as;
publishing some of your great archive articles and comments,  [THANKS for these!]
and the research and contact work which underpins the archive.

Suitable contributions very welcome:  It is easy to add to the Hadleigh & Thundersley Community Archive.

Start with a local picture of you, a relative or distinctive place, write a few words to describe it,  and then:

1. get in touch with us at hadleighhistory@gmail.com, or
2. click  “get involved” to see how to contribute, or
3. visit a drop-in at Hadleigh Library to meet an editor.

All articles are reviewed by editors before publishing.
