A Merry Christmas from Hadleigh

Memories of Winters Past

Snow has become a rarity compared to times past when the Creek froze over and the many village ponds became skating rinks. Two ponds in Thundersley might overflow and provide a large ice lake across Daws Heath Road… The view from Hadleigh Castle would be a wonderland on crisp clear days. In London, according to old Christmas cards, elegant people gallivanted on the Thames.
