The irrepressible bears are back; no zip wire, no parachutes,  just two concentrated hours in historic Hadleigh Old Fire Station,  to include .....

AGES and the Big Dig in Daws Heath (learn about our forebears;)

the chance to meet local authors, persuade them to sell you a book;

the continually refreshed display of local history with your own, your very own Community Archive;

Victory party (e.g. VE Day) celebration memories;

plus the exciting new book - Hadleigh Postcard Memories by Bob Nichols;

the chance to meet Leigh Heritage Society;

catch up with the next book in preparation: Tales out of School...

and, yes, there will be bears new and books pre-tested;  all for the bare necessity of 1 penny (whatever that is.)

Does anyone remember the Good Companions café at the side of the church? My father, Tom Hearn ran it through the 50s and early 60s. Any pictures?

Yes, I remember the Good Companions.  Used to go there with my mum after Saturday morning pictures at the Kingsway for a special treat. A bottle of pepsi with a straw and a cheese roll. Good old days.
