Bring old photos, documents, memories
Often we can make a preliminary scan for our records and suggest whether a more detailed scan with less portable equipment would be advisable.
Your free-to-use community archive encourages browsing of key digital documents, pictures and articles. People in (e.g.) Australia, Canada and across the UK have found links with their historic roots using this site.
Put yourself and your family “in the picture” by using the archive. You can upload a draft article, and visit a drop-in or open day to have documents and pictures scanned and returned to you. When families move around and buildings can suddenly disappear, many people find it helpful to have a free resource where everyone can contribute a strand to strengthen the fabric of community memory.
Links are provided to equivalent archive sites in Rochford & Rayleigh, Wickford, Billericay, Laindon, South Benfleet and Canvey.
Caution, browsing archives can become addictive.
