The London Olympics - Then and Now

1948 and 2012

As a six year old and living in London, I remember travelling to Wembly Stadium with my parents and three year old sister.  We couldn’t afford tickets for the Olympic Games but just went along to look and join in with the excitement. Imagine how thrilled we were when walking along Wembley Way we came face to face with some of the Indian/Pakistan team competitors.  They kindly stopped and allowed my mother to take a photo on our old box Brownie camera.  That photo held pride of place for many years.

Now in 2012, and living in Hadleigh, I still haven’t any Olympic tickets, but went along to see the Torch Relay and again joined in with the excitement.
