Saturday, 15th October 2011 was the last day of the first Hadleigh Art Trail. Many people had enjoyed the variety of interesting artworks displayed in some very attractive and unexpected settings.
In Hadleigh Old Fire Station (HOFS) there was a crafts event in the main Appliance Bay and a number of the Artist Studios on the first floor had been opened up to the public. You could walk up the stairs towards a notable buzz of discussion while the smell of the paintings and installations highlighted how complete the conversion was from Fire-Station to artist studios.
Numerous shops hosted displays of paintings, and our copy of the map had become well-thumbed to find all of them. In particular, one display was arranged in a carpet shop; seeing the art against the background colours and textures of the merchandise was advantageous for both in this experiment.
