An exciting Padgett Postcard Perambulation
Presented by Malcolm Brown Saturday 18th June 2022
Here we see a small fraction of the rare and intriguing images that the famous Leigh-on-Sea photographer Alfred Padgett saved for posterity in the early years of the previous century.
With his sharp eye for historic features; he captured people and places with candour and enthusiasm.
Working through much of what is now Castle Point, Malcolm Brown will point out key features, the still famous crossroads with their smaller beginnings and people doing what people will always do. But with less traffic.
Admission is £3 each at the door from 10:30 am, including refreshments. The presentation starts at 11 o’clock precisely, in the morning of Saturday 18th June 2022 in the beautiful Grade 1 listed St James The Less Church. For more details, click to enlarge the poster picture, above.
