Diamond Jubilee Decorations at Hadleigh Old Fire Station

Getting ready for the Tea Party - 5th June, 2012

This delightful oil painting of Queen Elizabeth II, aged about three years old, was loaned to Hadleigh Old Fire Station for the Diamond Jubilee celebrations by Barbara Sayer. It was painted by her mother in her teens.

The other fabulous pictures were created by Kents Hill Brownies to celebrate the Queen’s sixty year reign. They looked so cheery and bright displayed on the white boards in the Old Fire Station Appliance Bay – many thanks for all the hard work!

  • We were very happy and pleased to see the Brownies’ art work displayed in the fire station. All the girls worked so hard on these pictures and we felt it would be nice to have them displayed somewhere so everyone could see them. Many thanks Samantha Barn Owl from Kents Hill Brownies (Kents Hill School, Benfleet)
