Salvation Army Cottages: regenerated

Introducing a link to a high-speed project

In 2017, the Salvation Army Cottages were completely “regenerated” and the above gallery shows key stages in the project.

The companion article to this post was based on the 16th March 2016 visit by some of the archive group. With the help of Major Geoff Ashdown, they entered the then rather neglected cottages in front of the new Hadleigh Temple Salvation Army Church on the London Road.   Here is the link to the article written about that visit.

They were due to be demolished and replaced by a new look cottage, keeping to the style and appearance of the one being taken down. Not much was known about them. They were certainly very old with no foundations.

Here is an accelerated video of just about 65 seconds showing how rapidly it was possible to regenerate the old cottages!
