Poetry Reading at Hadleigh Library

As part of the Essex Poetry Festival 2012, Dorothy Turner read her poetry at Hadleigh Library on 26th September.   The reading was advertised to local reading groups and the general public through posters in the library and Festival leaflets.

The library staff arranged the seating area and provided refreshments.   Ten people attended to hear the poems and ask questions.

Dorothy Turner is a Hadleigh resident and Chair of Southend Poetry Group.   After reading some of her own poems she referred to poems by other Poetry Group members; some of whom were present to read their poems.   The readings were received with interest and generated a good discussion.

At the end, people commented that they would have been happy for the reading to have gone on longer.
