This is one of several parties held in Hadleigh to celebrate the end of WW2 hostilities in Europe. In Britain, the allied victory was announced on the evening of Tuesday 7th May 1945. The following day – Wednesday 8th May – was declared a national holiday, known as Victory in Europe (VE) Day, and parties were held all over the country on VE Day and on succeeding days.

My cousins Joyce and Eileen Fulford are there. Joyce has since passed away. Baby Terry is not shown. Son of Violet Elizabeth Fulford. Any memories of him! Born November 1944.
No 46, I think, is Tony Freeman. Additional information, in case it is of any use – Tony was the brother of Connie Freeman who married Charlie Finch.
