On the evening of Thursday 11th October 2012, local artists involved in the Art Trail came to HOFS to engage with the public and other artists. It was a very friendly and informal atmosphere; just people sharing their love of creativity and having a chat.
I was introduced to Alison Wood, a Hadleigh photographer, who talked about her passion for local views, and she pointed out her “Rainbow over Hadleigh Castle” photograph, printed on canvas (below):
I then met Katherine Rose Hofman, a very bubbly lady just moved to Hadleigh, from Leigh-on-Sea. Her acrylic on canvas painting below is titled Three Wise Cows:
Having met mostly ladies, it was nice to talk to a gentleman – Colin Wyatt. As well as displaying Country Meadows (shown below) at HOFS, he also had work on display at Hadleigh Library.
After the success of last year’s inaugural Hadleigh Art Trail, the 2012 event involved even more artists and venues. Let’s hope that 2013 brings another fantastic week of art to Hadleigh for all to enjoy.
Hadleigh & Thundersley Community Archive were pleased to participate in “Open Studios” weekend (part of the Hadleigh Art Trail) at HOFS, by opening their office, Studio 13. As well as holding a Book and Bear sale, of course there was much talk of history, genealogy and how to contribute to our website. Thank you to everyone who came to see us!
