Exhibition Without Boundaries
A group show curated by HOFS
The exhibition ‘Without Boundaries’ of contemporary mixed media art, with evocative and strong links to themes of memory, nature and the Estuary was rich and layered, exploring both the fragility and depth of the Estuary’s ecosystem, resonating with personal, historical and emotional connections.
The artists featured worked in textile, 3D sculpture, collage with found objects, sound, video, light installation, works on paper, ceramics, mosaics and maps – tactile material that explores visual, emotional, nature, memories, stories and connection.
There were also unique opportunities to observe and engage with participating artists and groups before and during the exhibition. Two micro-residencies investigated multi-layered mapping of the Estuary hinterland and explored light as a transient phenomenon with an accompanying evening of artist talks at HOFS.
Participating artists:
Karen Apps, Alison Bournes, Phil Bradshaw, Juliet Bryson, Sally Chinea & Ye Olde Crows, Susan Clare, Mat Do, Amy Frampton, Tessa Frampton & Milly Fry, Julia Hart, David Hurrell, Hadleigh & Thundersley Community Archive (H&TCA), Amanda Jackson, Emma Mower, Jon Rust, Chris Ruston, Kim Saunders, Michael Upton, Nicola Upton, Sue Willis & Alan Hockett.
Without Boundaries was and is part of Estuary Anthology – a showcase of independently produced creative activities taking place during Estuary 2025.
