29th April 2005 The Echo reported that the memorial clock was installed and working on Victoria House Corner in Hadleigh and that it was to be officially unveiled at 3 pm 14th May 2005.

The Castle Point Mayor, Wendy Goodwin proudly described the clock as …” a very prestigious landmark for Castle Point.”
Mrs Goodwin had worked for months to raise £20,000 in public donations to pay for the clock.
Donations came from locals, the House of Lords, and a museum in Dallas.
