Photos of Cottages opposite War Memorial: Hadleigh

Hi Matthew (and Corinne!). Sorry for delay.
It was a great and pleasant surprise when I received notification from Hadleigh History that you had made contact, all the more so because your sister Corinne did the same on the same day, too!
You will obviously be aware of my earlier searches which are on going due to brickwalls that appear from nowhere and old photos I have acquired throw confusion in, too, as the area in question is not quite as I remember it.
Some local history suggests your cottage was not there at all: was it added on at a later date, I wonder? 1939 register indicates Mrs Ede at No. 1.
What I am currently trying to find out is when the cottages were demolished: as mentioned above, I recall Mrs Ede (Nan) was “forced” out on the pretext of road widening along that stretch and was moved to Florence Close on the Salvation Army land near to the old fire station.
I am also trying to find out when she moved there: she was already there in 1937 as my dad lodged there for a period until my mum and dad got married across the road at the Methodist Church and, of course, Nan was my mum’s stepmother.
The cottages, as you may know, were owned by Stibbards so I approached them. Unfortunately, elderly Mr Stibbards could not help me as he believes he only came to the business sometime after the cottages were demolished.
I have included here photos which may be of interest to you and would love to hear from you both about anything to do with that area, no matter how small and insignificant it may appear. Just for the record I was born in 1947.
